I have had a passion for photography since the age of nine, when I purchased my first camera from the local Goodwill. That Kodak 110 captured many wonderful moments at family parties and events, thus sparking my passion for candid photography. Growing up an 'army brat' provided a colorful and eccentric backdrop for my growing fascination with the camera and its ability to capture a moment in time.
Photography remained a hobby for me until my mid-twenties, when I enrolled in a photography enrichment course. Although the class was meant for personal development, my potential and passion soon became clear when an acquaintance requested that I professionally photograph her engagement photos. It was a success, and I realized I wanted more! Friends and family often petitioned my services, and what started as an artistic hobby was soon realized to be a true calling.
My continued interest in photography led me to the Milwaukee Area Technical College Photography program in 2005. Influenced by Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus, Danny Lyon, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, my style encompasses beauty in honest moments often overlooked by traditional portraiture. The vibrant people and eclectic neighborhoods of Cream City soon paved the way for my newly evolved passion. I set out to capture beauty in unassuming objects and places. My photographs are honest, edgy, and full of life. I have photographed for Girl Schouts of Wisconsin Southeast and Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (those images will not appear here), the Brew City Bombshells Burlesque Troop™, the review site ConcertLivewire.com™, Rockabilly Girl Productions, and countless privately booked events. I am also a photographer for Visual Image Photography on a variety of assignments, and also enjoy outdoor photography and natural settings.
